I was first introduced to the financial markets in 1993 when a friend shared with me the possibilities of trading and investing. After trading as a hobby for years, I decided to change my career as a construction cost estimator and follow my trading passion. In 2005, I was hired as a coach at a stock market education company called investools. At investools I gained additional trading education and learned how to coach clients. Investools was later acquired by TD Ameritrade in 2009. (TD Ameritrade was later acquired by Charles Schwab in 2020)

I continued to increase my market knowledge and in 2010 I received the designation of Chartered Market Technician (CMT) from the Chartered Market Technician Association. In 2016, TD Ameritrade downsized the coaching department and I was laid off.

I wanted to continue coaching and help others using my financial knowledge and skills. The best way to do this was to start my own company and Strive Investing was created.

I know and trade the different financial markets of stocks, options, futures, forex, and cryptocurrency. I've spent more than 30,000+ hours coaching over 10,000+ customers and clients. My experience has developed me to believe two main keys to be successful in the markets are: understanding trader psychology and develop a systematic approach to learn the skills needed to unlock the potential of the markets.

To mentor my clients, I created the PLAYER process, which provides the steps to guide them along the path to success. By following the PLAYER process consistently, you can build the confidence needed to create and follow your plans toward your goals.

The truth is investing and trading takes time, experience, and consistency to achieve success. This will test you mentally and financially. Do you want to be a PLAYER or just keep playing around?

I love spending time with my family and extended family. I have been married to my wife, Lisa for over 26 years and together we have 4 children. We also have a Zuchon dog named Sophie. When I am not working or trading, I enjoy sports, travel, outdoors, and working on self-development. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a Associate degree in Construction Management. I am also a licensed mortgage loan originator in Utah, USA.
